What Makes a Good Barrier Film?

Ultimately it’s about the safety of your patient and your practice. Here are the guidelines for deciding.

Does it leave any residue when tearing off? You don’t want the film to leave the color on your equipment. You don’t want it to leave pieces of the film still attached.

How easily does it tear off? Often times, having a non-adhesive edge significantly helps to lift the film

Have the PE barriers proven to be impenetrable? Ensuring that the barrier films don’t leak any liquid, bacteria, or aerosols through is critical for safety.
